Dubai Tour for fans: the whole week’s festival of cycling entertainment How to join the Dubai Tour Fan Village and enjoy all the best activities surrounding the four-day-race

Dubai, 28 January 2016 – The Dubai Tour is synonymous with entertainment, on and off the race route, with the stars of world cycling always nearby. It’s not ‘just’ about the major professional race for the prize of the Circle of Stars by Pininfarina, it’s also a week-long show that starts on February 2nd with an impressive opening ceremony at the outdoor amphitheatre at The Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina and continues at the Dubai Tour Fan Village (settled at DIMC – Dubai International Marine Club) right throughout the week that follows.

The opening ceremony on February 2nd will see the 128 athletes of all the 16 invited teams presented during a spectacular show, with unique acts designed to celebrate the shared passion for cycling through performances of music and dancing.

Some iconic music hits will be performed live by a famous European band, lead by the Italian singer Mary Dima. The star of the show will be the Italian freestyler and Former BikeTrial World Champion Vittorio Brumotti and his stunt team.

February 3rd sees the start of the Dubai Tour’s first stage (Dubai Silicon Oasis Stage) and at the same time at DIMC – Dubai International Marine Club the opening of a special free-entry area called the Dubai Tour Fan Village. It’s open throughout 3rd to 6th February from 9am to 3.30pm and features teams and sponsors paddocks with a wide range of activities to participation in and watch, including twice-daily shows by Vittorio Brumotti and other performers.

Kris Fade, one of the most famous radio DJs in Dubai, working on Virgin Radio Dubai, will interact live with the fans from the Dubai Tour Fan Village.

Kris moved over to Dubai in 2008 to help Kiwi Steve start up Virgin Radio Dubai. He’s won numerous awards, including Ahlan!

Best Personality in Dubai and Abu Dhabi and has been in the Hot 100 for five years and counting. He said: “I’m very excited to be part of this year’s Dubai Tour. Keeping fit is a passion of mine and I have always said that health is the most important aspect in a person’s life. So I’m very happy to be part of a great initiative that brings people together and promotes a fun and active lifestyle.”

Among many other features, at the Dubai Tour Fan Village visitors can follow all the important preliminary procedures before the race start. All riders are required to sign at a special podium and will be interviewed and photographed by the media. This is when fans can ask for signatures and take “selfies” with their favourite riders. There will also be a special jerseys and trophy parade against a backdrop of live music and an English-language race commentary.

We remind all fans that they are also welcome to see the finish of each stage. Experiencing the final sprint on the home stretch live is an exciting event and the podium ceremony that follows gives the opportunity to see the best riders again and taste the whole race-day atmosphere!
