Matteo Bianchi campione europeo nel chilometro da fermo
Il primo titolo di prestigio del 2025 porta la firma di Matteo Bianchi, che si laurea campione europeo nel chilometro da fermo ai Campionati Europei su pista in corso a Zolder. Il pistard bolzanino bissa così il trionfo del 2024, quando aveva conquistato l’oro ad Apeldoorn, nei Paesi Bassi.
Con un tempo di 59.865, Bianchi conferma il dominio già mostrato in fase di qualificazione, dove aveva fatto registrare il miglior crono.
“Ero fiducioso per questa riconferma” – ha dichiarato l’atleta, che corre per il team MBH Bank Ballan CSB Colpack ed è tesserato per l’Esercito – “ho lavorato con scrupolo per essere in forma già a febbraio. Sapevo di poter fare bene e avevo la mentalità giusta. Dopo aver visto la starting list ieri, mi sentivo sicuro”.

Bianchi ha preceduto il tedesco Maximilian Dorbach (1:00.390) e il ceco David Peterka (1:01.018). Settimo posto per Stefano Minuta, compagno di squadra in MBH Bank Ballan CSB Colpack, che ha fermato il cronometro a 1:02.118.
“La prima medaglia della stagione è sempre speciale” – ha commentato il team manager Antonio Bevilacqua – “e speriamo sia di buon auspicio per il 2025. Il nostro sponsor Gabor Deak ci aveva chiesto di avere tante maglie in questa stagione e abbiamo subito risposto con la prima di livello europeo”.

Matteo Bianchi Crowned European Champion in the Kilometer Time Trial
The first major title of 2025 belongs to Matteo Bianchi, who has been crowned European champion in the kilometer time trial at the ongoing European Track Cycling Championships in Zolder. The Bolzano-born rider successfully defends his 2024 title, when he claimed gold in Apeldoorn, Netherlands.
With a time of 59.865 seconds, Bianchi reaffirmed his dominance, having already posted the fastest time in the qualification round.
“I was confident about defending my title,” said the athlete, who competes for the MBH Bank Ballan CSB Colpack team and is registered with the Italian Army. “I trained meticulously to be in top form by February. I knew I could do well and had the right mindset. After seeing the starting list yesterday, I felt sure of myself.”
Bianchi finished ahead of Germany’s Maximilian Dorbach (1:00.390) and Czech rider David Peterka (1:01.018). Stefano Minuta, his teammate at MBH Bank Ballan CSB Colpack, placed seventh with a time of 1:02.118.
“The first medal of the season is always special,” commented team manager Antonio Bevilacqua. “We hope it’s a good omen for 2025. Our sponsor Gabor Deak wanted to see many championship jerseys this season, and we’ve already delivered the first one at the European level.”
