ANDRONI GIOCATTOLI SIDERMEC: UMBA AL TOUR ALSACE VINCE SUL TRAGUARDO DELLA PLANCHE DES BELLES FILLES
Arriva il successo al Tour Alsace per l’Androni Giocattoli Sidermec.
In Francia è il giovanissimo Santiago Umba a farla da padrone sul prestigioso traguardo de La Planche des Belles Filles, approdo del Tour de France in più di un’occasione nelle ultime stagioni.
Sulla salita finale della terza tappa (partita da Vesoul e nei suoi 143 chilometri nel complesso impegnativa) della corsa francese il 18enne colombiano dell’Androni Giocattoli Sidermec ha prima provato ad allungare sul gruppetto di testa ai meno due chilometri dalla conclusione, ma senza troppa fortuna.
Poi nell’ultimo chilometro il vero show del talentino sudamericano che si è levato tutti di ruota, andando a riprendere un contrattaccante e staccando il drappello dei migliori.
Alle spalle di Umba hanno chiuso il francese Huby, lo svizzero Reichenbach, lo spagnolo Berrade e il belga Van Eetvelt.
Umba è anche leader della classifica dei giovani.
Primo nella graduatoria della combattività, invece, l’altro Androni Giocattoli Sidermec Mattia Bais, protagonista con altri corridori della lunga fuga che ha animato tutta la tappa fino alle battute finali.
Sulla vittoria di Umba arriva il commento del team manager Gianni Savio: «Abbiamo grande fiducia in Santiago e non a caso avevamo definito con lui un contratto quadriennale.
Non lo abbiamo portato al Giro d’Italia perché troppo giovane e ancora in fase di formazione.
Lo faremo crescere gradualmente e siamo certi che potrà offrire grandi emozioni a tutti i tifosi».
Per l’Androni Giocattoli Sidermec, guidata in Francia dal direttore sportivo Gian Paolo Cheula, quello di Umba di oggi è il sesto successo stagionale.
Per Umba è la prima vittoria da professionista.
Domani al Tour Alsace è in programma la quarta tappa Ribeauvillé-Lac Blanc (161,3 chilometri).

PRESS RELEASE – ANDRONI GIOCATTOLI SIDERMEC: UMBA WINS AT THE ALSACE TOUR ON THE FINISH LINE OF PLANCHE DES BELLES FILLES
Success arrives at the Alsace Tour for Androni Giocattoli Sidermec. In France, the very young Santiago Umba is the master of the prestigious finish line of La Planche des Belles Filles, the arrival of the Tour de France on more than one occasion in recent seasons.
On the final climb of the third stage (starting from Vesoul and its 143 kilometers challenging overall) of the French race, the 18-year-old Colombian of Androni Giocattoli Sidermec first tried to stretch on the leading bunch less than two kilometers from the conclusion, but without too much luck. Then in the last kilometer the true show of the South American talent who all got out of the way, going to catch an attacker and detaching the squad of the best. Behind Umba closed the French Huby, the Swiss Reichenbach, the Spanish Berrade and the Belgian Van Eetvelt. Umbra is also the leader of the youth ranking. First in the ranking of combativeness, however, the other Androni Giocattoli Sidermec Mattia Bais, protagonist with other riders in the long breakaway that animated the whole stage up to the final stages.
On Umba’s victory comes the comment of team manager Gianni Savio: «We have great confidence in Santiago and it is no coincidence that we had defined a four-year contract with him. We didn’t take him to the Giro d’Italia because he was too young and still in the training phase. We will make him grow gradually and we are sure that he will be able to offer great emotions to all the fans».
For the Androni Giocattoli Sidermec, led in France by the sporting director Gian Paolo Cheula, success of Umba is the sixth of the season. For Umba it is the first victory as a professional.
The fourth stage Ribeauvillé-Lac Blanc (161,3 kilometers) is scheduled for tomorrow at the Tour Alsace.
