DRONE HOPPER ANDRONI GIOCATTOLI: TESFAZION VINCE IL TOUR DU RWANDA
Un decimo posto appena dietro al rivale più pericoloso da controllare per la classifica generale è bastato a Natnael Tesfazion per vincere il 14° Tour du Rwanda (Uci 2.1), una delle gare più importanti del continente africano.
Per l’eritreo un successo ottenuto nella sua terra che vale tantissimo: «Sono super felice» ha commentato appena chiusa la Kigali-Kigali, ottava e ultima tappa del Tour du Rwanda, attorniato dai compagni di squadra. «Ci tenevo veramente tanto a questa corsa» ha poi proseguito Tesfazion. «Mi sono preparato molto bene e anche se si trattava del debutto stagionale sono riuscito ad ottenere il successo. Tutto fantastico».
Fanno eco alle parole del 22enne corridore quelle di Leonardo Canciani, il direttore sportivo della Drone Hopper Androni Giocattoli che ha seguito la squadra in Rwanda: «Natnael si è presentato in ottima condizione. Ha dimostrato di essere forte fin dal principio e poi di andare in crescendo. Lui e tutta la squadra avevano una grande motivazione».
L’ultima tappa è andata al corridore di casa Mugisha con Tesfazion, appunto, decimo e Juan Diego Alba al sesto posto.
Tesfazion in classifica generale ha preceduto l’ucraino Budyak di 26” e l’irlandese Ewart di 48”. Juan Diego Alba ha terminato all’ottavo posto.
Per la Drone Hopper Androni Giocattoli quello di Natnael Tesfazion è un successo importante in una corsa cresciuta negli anni e a cui hanno preso parte team di caratura, a cominciare da TotalEnergies, Israel Premier Tech e B&B Hotels Ktm.
Sulla corsa ecco il commento del general manager Gianni Savio: «Ho lanciato tra i professionisti molti giovani, europei e sudamericani, che hanno vinto con il nostro team e hanno continuato nelle grandi squadre dove sono approdati. Ora è la volta di un africano, Natnael Tesfazion, un giovane che ritengo potrà essere protagonista nell’arco della stagione».
