The third Dubai Tour is ready to goThe race, that will be broadcast worldwide in 155 countries (43 more than last year), offers new features including a finish in another Emirate (Fujairah), a new sponsor for the UAE flag jersey (DHA – Dubai Health Authority) and amazing scenery for the final sprint (Business Bay Area). The Top Riders’ press conference is tomorrow at 4pm at DIMCDubai, 1 February 2016 – There are just two days to go before the first stage of the 2016 Dubai Tour at Dubai International Marine Club.
The daily schedule will be very busy from tomorrow, with the Top Riders’ press conference (4pm at DIMC) and the official Opening Ceremony at the outdoor amphitheatre at The Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina. One of the accompanying events will be the Novo Nordisk and Dubai Health Authority press conference, hosted by the Dubai Tour HQ (3pm), that is focused on promoting healthy lifestyles to prevent the risk of diabetes.
The following day, February 3rd, the peloton of 128 riders will ride towards the desert and the Al Hajar Mountains, the highest mountain range in the eastern Arabian peninsula, to reach the beaches of the Fujairah Emirate.
For the first time the main landmarks of this Emirate will be broadcast all over the world and the TV viewers of more than 150 countries will discover a territory with a history lost in the mists of time (the site of Fujairah has been inhabited for 4,000 years), home of the oldest mosque in the UAE, Al-Bidyah Mosque, and the historical Bithnah Fort.
The podium ceremony that follows the end of the Dubai Silicon Oasis Stage will give the opportunity to see who will be the first rider to wear, among the other jerseys, the UAE flag jersey sponsored this year by the Dubai Health Authority. After another stage suited for the sprinters (Nakheel Stage), on February 5th the riders will face the Hatta climb (The Westin Stage) then come back to Dubai for the last race day.
The final sprint is settled in a new venue at the up and coming Business Bay area. H.E. Saeed Hareb, Dubai Sports Council General Secretary, said: “We’re very pleased to end the third Dubai Tour in the heart of this ambitious destination.

The Host Broadcaster is Dubai Sports Channel, which will offer its audience the full live coverage of all stages live on both Dubai Sports Channel 1 (in English) and Dubai Sports Channel 2 (in Arabic), with race pre-race and post-race shows broadcast across the United Arab Emirates and in 22 other Middle Eastern and North African nations. Eurosport will broadcast two hours per stage on its pan-European and Asia Pacific networks, covering a huge panel of countries. Italian cycling fans will be able to watch the race live on RAI too.
Live coverage of the event will be also provided in Japan thanks to J Sports, in Australia on SBS’s screens, in the U.S.A. thanks to NBC and in Mexico and other 5 countries on Televisa Deportes Network.
To complete the framework of live broadcasts, in South Africa and 51 countries of Sub-Saharan Africa SuperSport will be showing the Dubai Tour. Furthermore, 7 TV networks will broadcast highlights of the event in the Australasian macro-region: LETV in China, Fox Sports down under, Sky Sport in New Zealand, FPT Telecom in Vietnam, True Visions in Thailand and Sony TV in the Indian subcontinent. Moreover, the SNTV (Sports News Television) platform will be distributing event news via its international circuit.
