UAE Tour: Provisional Entry List 

The cycling world’s top names line up for the only Middle Eastern race on the UCI WorldTour calendar. Download the lists here and the preliminary operations here

United Arab Emirates, 21 February 2020 – The Provisional Entry List for the 2020 UAE Tour, the one and only WorldTour race in the Middle East, is revealed. 20 teams will start, including 18 of the 19 UCI WorldTeams.

Riders confirmed on the Provisional Entry List include seven-time Grand Tour winner Chris Froome, choosing the UAE Tour for his comeback; last year’s UAE Tour runner-up and 2018 UCI Road World Champion, Alejandro Valverde (winner of the 2018 Abu Dhabi Tour and two-times stage winner atop Jebel Hafeet); 2019 Giro d’Italia King of the Mountains Giulio Ciccone; and Tadej Pogačar, the young Slovenian winner of the 2019 Tour of California, and three stages of the 2019 Vuelta a España. 

Alongside them are such famous names as the Italian road champion Davide Formolo; Tour de France Young Rider winner, Adam Yates; winner of the 2016 Liège-Bastogne-Liège, Wout Poels; stage winner at both the Giro and the Tour, Ilnur Zakarin and some of the best sprinters in the world, including: Fernando Gaviria, winner of five stages at the Giro, two at the Tour and Stage 2 of the 2019 UAE Tour; winner of stages in all three Grand Tours and Stage 4 at the 2019 UAE Tour atop Hatta Dam, Caleb Ewan; winner of stages in the last three Tours de France and 2nd overall at the 2017 Dubai Tour, Dylan Groenewegen; winner of three stages at the Giro, two at La Vuelta and the final stage of the 2019 UAE Tour, Sam Bennett; winner of two stages and 2019 Giro d’Italia Points Classification, Pascal Ackermann; winner of the 2016 MIlano-Sanremo and stages at the Giro and Le Tour, Arnaud Démare; and Mark Cavendish: 2011 Road World Champion, winner of 48 Grand Tour stages, the General Classification at the 2015 Dubai Tour and the Points Classification at both the 2016 and 2018 Abu Dhabi Tours.
